In 2004 I got the chance to design my own family's week-end house in the village Pigniu. This fabulous place at 1300 meters above sea in the Surselva Region of Graubünden province, above the Town Ilanz, was well-known to me, for my parents owned an old farmhouse until the 1980ies here. The Spiral shaped chalet has the form of a band, changing from concrete in the base to wooden shingles upwards. The house is designed to connect us to the landscape we love. You will heat with chopped wood.

In summer: The house is a 4-minute walk from the lake and the indoor swimming pool, and 5 minutes from the newly opened longest treetop path in the world (Senda dil Dragun).
