Plum Cottage - charming tiny house near the beach

Inspired by the tiny house movement, the cottage packs a big punch. Constructed with native timbers, Plum Cottage integrates beautifully with the landscape. The cottage is privately nestled amongst the plum trees and gardens. Feel free to pick some tomatoes or a juicy plum! Summer sunsets are lovely. Located on the Tahunanui hillside with views to the distant mountains. It is an easy 1.3 km walk to the beach (15 min) or 5 min drive. CBD is 6km away (12/15 min drive). Bus stop is 13m walk.

Opening in 2020, Te Whare o Kea is a Gold Kea Sponsor, donating over $20,000 to the Kea Conservation Trust. It also supports the monitoring of kea nest sites in the Cobb Valley and maintains a 17 trap trapline and trail camera behind Te Whare.

It spills out onto a landscaped garden with a tree-lined patio looking over Fifeshire Rock and ranges. It's one of the most beautiful spots in Nelson. Steep climb from the road, up steps and boardwalks. We suggest a pack, not a suitcase.

The room has a comfortable Queen size bed, kitchen with microwave, fridge/freezer, Electric hot plate. Separate shower room. Private stand alone “log” cabin, with outside space. Our log cabin is located on a 50acre lifestyle farm in a hidden valley an hour south of Nelson and 40 minutes north of Murchison. It is peaceful and private with stunning mountain views and space to relax. With no traffic noise, the only sounds you will hear are the native birdsong and the Hope River running gently beside the property. NO Discrimination - everybody is welcome here.
