Kiwi cuisine, substantial and well priced. It is also the closest to my address. Its in an interesting old stone building. We went in May 2018 and shared one $20 entree and got a variety of meats and cheeses salmon olives onion gerkins plus a warm loaf with flavoured butter. My venison main (a medium /rare lean steak) with vegetables was up there with the best I have tasted at pricier restaurants . Peter was a little over whelmed by a delicious sheet of pork ribs covering a huge platter. Wine is $8 a glass. It specializes in tap beer and 6 are on offer.

Experience New Zealand food at its finest, while enjoying a beer or two made right here locally in Otago. The Speights Ale House is a great place to take the family for dinner with a menu like no other.
