Stunning short hike through a variety of ecosystems. The rail trail has a nice view of farms and a beaver pond (have seen beavers there multiple times), and the spur part of the trail takes you through ferns and a pine forest.
A 30-minute drive from the studio, the Andes Rail Trail is an easy and accessible hiking trail just outside of the town of Andes. The approximately 4-mile trail winds through the forest in a loop that follows parts of the old rail line.
We love this long, flat walk along an old rail trail in Andes. Just drive right up and park for free and spend about an hour taking in the stillness and beauty of nature. For travelers of all ages and hiking experience.
