La Perla Restaurant was established in 1959 and is located on the Sea Point beach front. It has established itself as the luxurious venue that has played host to world famous celebrities over the past four decades, including Sting, Marlene Dietrich, B.J, Vorster and ex-South African president, Thabo Mbeki. The 1970’s fish tank deign, coupled with its beachfront location and elegant dining area with classic wood-carved chairs, and outstanding food have all contributed to its status as one of the finest restaurants in Cape Town. The menu is predominantly Italian, with an emphasis on seafood. Salad ingredients and vegetables are home-grown on their own farm in Bainskloof, Wellington. Lamb and venison is reared free-range on their partner farm in Namibia, while pastas are handmade to ensure freshness and quality.
