Unique in the world, Saint-Savin Abbey has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1983. The richness of what you will see justifies its nickname Sistine Chapel of the Romanesque period. A hotbed of Romanesque culture, the abbey opens the door to the Valley of Frescoes, which includes eight buildings decorated with murals built on the banks of the Gartempe.
