Located just 2 miles from us. Back in Civil war times this was originally a military training post, and now it is a State park with Lots to see and do! To better plan your visit you may want to search for Fort Harrison State park and check their website Events Calendar.

If you need to escape the city for a few hours, enjoy some great hiking trails, undulating landscape, or relax with a lakeside picnic. You can even golf nearby.

Close by and tons of hiking and biking trails. Highly recommend! Fort Harrison is a state park for many seasons for many reasons. Patrons may enjoy visiting the park year round, especially in winter since Fort Harrison features one of the biggest sledding hills in the area. Spring is the season to walk with the woodland wildflowers in full bloom across the park. Summer is the perfect time for a canoe trip down Fall Creek, the major water feature that runs through the north side of Fort Harrison. Autumn brings warm, sunny days and breathtaking fall colors to this, the last forested corner left in Marion County.
