Jongmyo is the place where the memorial tablets of the kings and queens of the Joseon Dynasty are enshrined. An invaluable resource for the study of Joseon Dynasty architecture and city planning.
Jongmyo is a Confucian shrine dedicated to the perpetuation of memorial services for the deceased kings and queens of the Korean Joseon Dynasty (1392–1897). It was one of the important King's duties to hold ceremonies for the deceased ancestors.
