It is open from March 31st to November 4th, Friday to Sunday according to the timetable. In July and August the opening is anticipated to Wednesday. Admission is free. Inaugurato nel 1927, su progetto dell'architetto Arduino Berlam, oltre a svolgere la sua funzione di guida alla navigazione notturna illuminando il Golfo di Trieste, è anche monumento commemorativo dedicato ai marinai caduti durante la Prima Guerra Mondiale, così come tetimoniato dalla iscrizione posta alla base: "Splendi e ricorda i caduti sul mare (MCMXV - MCMXVIII)".
