Gaurikund (12 km ahead): Starting point of the 21 km trek to Kedarnath. Sonprayag (7 km behind): Gateway to Triyuginarayan (15 km), the sacred place where Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati were married in Treta Yuga. Kalimath (30 km behind): A revered Siddhipeeth, where Goddess Durga took the form of Kali.
