Great spot

Renovated motel conveniently located and in a safe neighborhood (Royal Oak.) The bed was comfortable and the A/C was nice and cool. We were there for a quick one-night stay and it offered the basics of what we needed.

There were several aspects of the place that felt a little... dingy? Bizarre? I think the motel is overcharging because they have "elevated" interiors, which are intended to be "eclectic" and "on trend." In my opinion, the decor just reads a little chaotic, overdone, and tacky. The bathroom fluorescent lighting was cold and harsh. A free breakfast sandwich and coffee from the restaurant next door is included with your stay. If you are simply looking to put food in your body, go for it (that's what we did.) I washed down my sandwich (dry sliced bread, a slice of American cheese, and one pale yellow egg, no seasoning) with some of the worst coffee I've ever tasted (and we ordered espresso instead of their regular drip coffee.)

Pleasantly surprised with the space. Hotel has been completely redone. And breakfast at the grille next door was included

Awesome! Close to everything in Royal Oak. Chill upscale downtown with great restaurants, breweries & bars. Renovated Howard Johnson hotel. Quiet neighborhood.
