The Birch ply interior, wool carpet and heat pump create a warm and cosy vibe. The Barn is set in a rural landscape overlooking a lovely large pond inhabited by local birdlife. Approx 10-15 mins drive from Dunedin city centre and 3 mins to historic Port Chalmers and some of the best beaches and coastal scenery Otago has to offer all nearby.

There are two bedrooms upstairs, one with a King bed and the other with two singles. Downstairs is the third bedroom with a queen bed and a set of bunks. Open plan lounge. Full sea view. Outdoor bath with hot water in garden. 800m from SH1. 1700m from Moeraki Boulders in one direction. 1700m from Moeraki Tavern and Village in other direction.

Our tranquil ocean side retreat, overlooking a tidal reef, is conveniently located a 15 minute drive to the famous Moeraki boulders, a 40 minute drive to the historic town of Oamaru and just 10 minutes to Palmerston for shopping . Shag Point Retreat offers private gardens, a unique base for exploring and also a quiet respite “off the beaten track”. Close by a wide sweeping sandy bay. Or head to the Conservation reserve, a 10 minute walk - coastal views, seals and bird life abounds.

Spacious, comfortable and modern 1 bedroom unit with ensuite. A 2nd DETACHED room as an additional bedroom is available (see photo, fees apply) The cottage is equipped with microwave, stove top, toaster, kettle and basic utensils to prepare a simple meal. Private, delightful garden & decks facing the sun. Outdoor seating provided. Your well behaved, house trained dog is welcome to stay. Lovely Historic School, Karitane

Our unique stand alone studio is a small, historic, renovated school about 30km north of Dunedin and close to the village of Karitane. The school has everything you need for a warm, comfortable stay. There books and games for your use. We live in a repurposed sheep shearing shed nearby and both buildings are surrounded by extensive gardens and plantings. There are panoramic views of the very picturesque coast line and out to sea. It is very peaceful and private.

Private with lots of room to move, our place has a relaxing beach house feel. Surrounded by large lawns and native trees, it has ultimate privacy. We have a large veranda to enjoy the sunshine and a BBQ. It’s only a 5 minute walk from Hampden Beach, shops, cafes and local tavern. Just a 5 minutes drive to the Moeraki Boulders or a 20 minute walk along the beach. We are only a 25 minute drive south of Oamaru and 50 minutes north of Dunedin.

A beautifully restored two bedroom 1880s settlers cottage offers a blend of historic character with modern comforts nestle in a pretty setting, just a short distance from the city where you can visit local shops, cafes, restaurants and bars.
