We spent a night away in Katherine’s little cabin on their property & I wish we stayed longer. It was a wonderful scenic drive up to Katherine’s property, which is very secluded & a short drive away from the main road. The cabin is perfect for 2 adults, very comfortable & cosy, with a very comfortable bed. It was unfortunately rather wet & gloomy weather while we were up, scouting for properties ourselves. But it was pure bliss sitting out on the front deck just listening to the rain. I wish we had more time & less rain to check out their beautiful little waterfall area which Katherine showed me photos. There looks like some lovely little walking track areas to explore so plenty to do for people who just want to get away & touch some grass or just enjoy the peace & quiet. Katherine was very welcoming & easy to get along with, she met us when we arrived & took us to the cabin & came to greet us when we were leaving. I’ll definitely be back at some stage to spend a few more nights!

A lovely cottage and incredibly beautiful surrounding property. We especially loved walking down to the dam and watching the platypus play in the water. What a treat! We saw wild deer in the early mornings too and many birds. We felt miles away from the hustle and bustle and really relaxed into the country lifestyle. Sandra’s instructions were extremely helpful. Thanks so much for having us!

We had a wonderful stay at Sandra’s place. The home was cozy, clean, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Sandra was a fantastic host — very kind, responsive, and flexible, which made our experience even more relaxing. Her thoughtful communication and hospitality really stood out. If you’re travelling to Walcha for work, consider this cottage. It’s a nice alternative to a motel or room at the pub.

What a wonderful setting! The paddock with cows, rolling hills and a flowing creek. Wood burner, cosy lounge and kitchen. We had full days out and didn’t get to enjoy the place as much as we wanted. Hope to come back some time 🙌

Tara was incredibly welcoming, providing us with great local recommendations and ensuring we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Tucked away in a peaceful, remote setting, this Airbnb offered the perfect blend of tranquility, comfort, and thoughtful hospitality. The 5-star views were simply breathtaking—sunrises over the hills, stars that felt close enough to touch, and a sense of stillness that’s hard to come by. What truly sets this place apart is the attention to detail. The space was immaculately clean and beautifully maintained, with every corner showing care and thoughtfulness. I was especially impressed by the generous breakfast provisions and snacks—everything was fresh, high-quality, and made me feel completely looked after. The friendly resident animals added an extra layer of warmth and charm to my stay. Whether it was watching kangaroos graze nearby or being greeted by the gentle farm animals, it was a wholesome, grounding experience I won’t forget. Smokey Cape is a hidden gem and I can’t wait to return

Lovely little cottage overlooking a beautiful sprawling garden. Jacki is a great host and we had everything we needed. So nice to be out in the New England countryside, perfect remedy for a long year in the inner city.
