Finding a rental in Athens for graduation weekend can be difficult. We rented Woodland Ridge on airbnb. It was literally one of the best stays I have ever had in an airbnb. The first morning, the owner offered breakfast from the farm we had fresh eggs, sausage, fresh fruit & assortment of breads from local businesses. The cabinets were full of things that we could use coffee & snacks to name a few. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes and any appliance that we would need to feel at home. The pictures on airbnb do not do this place justice. It is a secluded stay in the woods 20 minutes from Ohio University. The outside was wonderful with a wraparound porch and a hot tub. You definitely can also see the wildlife we saw several deer. I Even with my uncertainty of animals, this place is a must stay it is absolutely beautiful. I shared on OU parent page this place is a gem!

Perfect place for my family and I to spend the night while visiting family in Parkersburg.

We had a great time at Sweet Pea cabin! Our hosts were super nice and helpful! They even left us flowers and treats for our dog! It was very relaxing and we loved the hot tub. It was awesome exploring the towns nearby and hiking at the national forest. We would love to visit again!

I enjoyed my stay here and would love to come back! Communication with Celesta was a breeze. She was so very responsive and kind. The place was beautiful, clean, and so cozy. There's another cabin on the property but even in the winter you can't see it from this one, so it feels private and peaceful. The area is amazing. Palmer's Market is a short drive and has so many amazing things. Triple Nickel Diner had our business a few times, too! Athens is about a 30 minute drive with shops, restaurants, trails, you name it! Don't pass this place up. I can't wait to come back.

My boyfriend & myself had the most relaxing weekend getaway here. The views are amazing, this truly is a hidden gem. To fishing the pond, enjoying the view off the back porch, or sitting in the hot tub with an open sky of stars. This was so peaceful for us. We enjoyed a couple stops over to Athens for some coffee (highly recommend court street coffee) & also did some fishing in our boat at strouds run (highly recommend also) Mark was an excellent host & we can’t wait to book again!! :)

Convenient location for our family get together in nearby Vincent. Very peaceful setting. Make sure you check-in while it is light out, as it is hard to find in the dark (we drove by it a few times).

What a cute and cozy place to spend a long weekend! We loved the cabin and the location. Everything was great. Sheri was wonderful at communicating and making sure everything went well for our stay.

This is a wonderful, clean, and convenient place to stay if you are visiting Athens or Ohio University. Everything was as detailed in the description and in others' reviews. The apartment was very clean, had everything we needed for five people to sleep comfortably, and there were some nice extra touches too. The location is great. You can walk uptown or to campus in 15 minutes, and be along the Hocking River in 5 minutes. The Jackie's O's Cannery is just a few minute walk away and is a great option for a family-friendly place to grab a drink (and hopefully a delicious sandwich from the Bagel Street Deli food truck if it's open when you're there). This apartment made for an easy and enjoyable trip to Athens and Ohio University. We didn't need Christine's assistance at all, but she made clear she was always available if we did need it. Highly recommend!

Hosts Brenda and Deborah were extremely warm, welcoming, and flexible! We were on a short trip for a graduation at Ohio University, about 12 minutes away. Due to delayed flights and 1.5 hour drive from Columbus Airport, we didn't arrive until 10:30pm, and Deb was waiting on the porch to greet us and get us settled. Very much appreciated! Communication was great, including directions (by phone) re: the country roads in the dark. The space is large, as described and seen in photos, sort of a "basement apartment" in a gorgeous area, very peaceful. The place and hosts are down-to-earth, as we had hoped, making our stay lovely and enjoyable. 😊 Thank you!

Janice’s place was very well kept. Other reviews mentioned the great snacks, but I was still surprised at how well she stocked us up! She did a wonderful job. The kitchen has all of the necessary items to cook for yourself, there was plenty of coffee available, and extra towels on hand. The paper towels and toilet paper were quality too! She made it feel so welcoming! It was so much better than getting a hotel, and it allowed us to easily get to all of the places we needed to, without having to drive 30+ minutes one way each time. Would absolutely book here again when visiting the area.

The house was clean, well stocked with towels and linens, and a great location. Jim was responsive and provided clear instructions for check in/out.

Chaos house did not disappoint. Beautiful house with a beautiful view. The deer walking through the yard in the evening was a bonus. It was winter with snow but Chao made sure the driveway was clear and salted so it was not slick. Pictures did not do it justice. Chao went above and beyond to accommodate us. Cant wait to come back, hopeful in the spring!

We enjoyed staying at the Water’s Edge. It was a perfect, peaceful resting spot during a busy OU graduation weekend. Deni’s place is really close to town, but it’s so peaceful that you’d think you were an hour away. Everything at the house is exactly as described and Deni was responsive and very helpful with directions. I really loved sitting on the porch stargazing, while listening to the peaceful sounds of the night - crickets, owls and the occasional bullfrog. It was simply delightful. We look forward to rebooking with Deni on our next trip to Athens!

We stayed here while visiting our son at Ohio U. The beds were so comfortable & the showers were great! Would definitely stay here again

Really enjoyed our week staying at Jons cabin. He was a great host and very hospitable. The cabin was perfect for our group and the town of Athens is only a 10 minute drive down the road. Four of us spent a week bowhunting the property and every guy saw deer while in the woods. We target mature bucks and unfortunately were not able to seal the deal. It wasn’t for a lack of trying or seeing deer. The bucks just outsmarted us this time. We are already booked for next season and looking forward to it.

2025 was our 3rd year staying at the Farmhouse. Not elegant, but very clean and friendly. For us, it is a base of operations for motorcycle riding the crooked and curvy and well paved roads of SE Ohio. It you are a rider, this is a great area to ride and this house is right in the middle of it. Beautiful country all around. If you are not riding, this still is an area of pretty rolling farmland. Don't miss the city of Marietta and the Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption there. Make sure to have breakfast or lunch at the Blue Bell Diner on the town square. Very good food and atmosphere.
