Da Capo Mulini con il buon pesce fresco, poi Acitrezza con i faraglioni, sino ad Acicastello con il suo castello normanno e ad Acireale splendida cittadina barocca. In prossimità della casa: le terme romane di Santa Venera al pozzo, "Acqua grande" (una caratteristica spiaggia di ciottoli vulcanici), la riserva naturale della Timpa e quella marina dell'isola Lachea. La posizione strategica permette di raggiungere in breve tempo luoghi di interesse quali l'Etna, Taormina e la città di Catania. Ad Acireale c'è la stazione ferroviaria e il servizio di autobus.

Contesto ideale per amanti della natura e della tranquillità, nel vulcano più grande d'Europa, ricco di itinerari percorribili a piedi o in mountain bike. Il rifugio è ubicato in pieno percorso della gara di MTB "ETNA MARATHON" . Il rifugio offre piacevoli soggiorni in tutte le stagioni.
