We are located just three minutes from Sweet Briar College, 20 minutes from Liberty University, and 20 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Close to restaurants and downtown Amherst. While remote, also a convenient base to visit area attractions, hikes & easy drive to C'ville. Relax on the covered back deck watching the sunset and wildlife. Over 2 miles of wooded trails on property for guest use. 15-20 min walk through woods trails (part of this walk is on a hill) to access Rockfish River.

Crabtree Falls and Humpback Rock for hiking. In Nelson Co., the Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyland Drive began. Nearby is UVa's Rotunda, Monticello, Appomattox, DC, Schuyler (the Waltons). Nelson hosts peach and apple festivals each year. The beautiful foliage to be seen in the fall and winter snowy mountains.

Charming Renovated 1930's Soapstone Workers' Bungalow Relaxing, peaceful getaway in gorgeous Nelson County. Adjacent to a large hay field which leads down to a private branch of the Rucker's Run with excellent fishing. The cottage is at the end of a quiet country lane with few nearby houses. The newly renovated home was initially built to house workers from a soapstone quarry located on the property. During the remodel, we even found rationing coupons from 1945 hidden in the walls!

It is only a short drive from Lynchburg yet is also convenient to other area attractions, such as the Blue Ridge Parkway, Appalachian Trail, Mt. Pleasant Scenic Area, Wintergreen Resort, and an assortment of local restaurants, wineries, and breweries, including the Rt. 151 "Brew Ridge Trail."
