Historic House Close to Fredericksburg

Travel back in time nearly 200 years and stay at the Bazil Gordon House -built by America's first millionaire. Circa 1820, this house started as the private home of Bazil Gordon a short walk from his trading outpost in Historic Falmouth, VA directly on the Rappahannock River. The house has also been a civil war hospital, a stop on the underground railroad, a tavern, an excavation site that found venetian trade beads in the back yard, and it is now completely remodeled in 2021 to host guests.

It is walking distance to restaurants, bars, art galleries, shops, train station, etc., and less than two blocks from Sunken Road and the 1862 Civil War battlefield, only 3 miles from I95. Street parking is available. We respectfully request smokers not consider booking as smoking or vaping is prohibited in the cottage as well as on the property.
