My friend (who is an airbnb super host) and I really enjoyed our 2 day stay at the Swan Creek A Frame. We got excited as we approached the property and saw our sweet accommodations tucked up the hill, beautifully lit up for our arrival. Check in was simple and we were happy to see that space was clean and had all that we needed, plus some. We immediately felt right at home! The view from the property is amazing, especially at sunset with the panoramic view of blue ridge mountains in the distance. It was great sitting out on the porch in the comfortable chairs sipping on wine from the vineyard down the road. :) I wish we had more time to enjoy the out door amenities: the fire pit, hammocks and jacuzzi. It is a great location for visiting the vineyards and wineries in the area and just an all around peaceful place to be during your travels in this neck of the woods. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to friends!

This cabin was a perfect weekend getaway. It was pretty private and the trails and creek were lovely. The hot tub was nice to relax in and the location of the cabin made it easy to visit some local wineries. We hope to be back soon!

Lovely cabin home, matching decor, fully stocked, comfy mattresses, and great amenities. Felt private but was close to extracurricular activities we had planned (spa, winery, steakhouse). Enjoyed the hot tub and wanted to have smores at the firepit (compliments of the host!) but the windy weather made a fire unsafe. Maybe next time!

The cabin is aptly named—it is right by the New River. I suspect in summer, you’d be lucky to get this place, since it’d be excellent for river access. We got to chill out in mid-April, thanks both to cold weather & the peaceful, scenic surroundings. The cabin is charming & comfortable & just as pictured. We slept delightfully well in the queen beds. The kitchen has a wealth of dishes, cookware, utensils, etc., plus some spices & fridge items on hand. The dining area looks out on the mountains. Although we didn’t use them much because of the cold, there’s a front & a side porch with nice views. Everything was spotlessly clean, & Danielle was a gracious & responsive host. Note: there is no WiFi, but we managed using our phones as hot spots. Cell service was generally okay. The town of Independence is only about 10 minutes away, & it has a marvelous grocery store. We enjoyed delicious pizza at Ciro’s, & we’d recommend Powerhouse Falls for an outdoor adventure.

Our stay at Finn’s Folly was fantastic, we wish it could have been longer. Kathryn is a great host, even leaving us some fresh eggs to enjoy! We’d gladly stay again.

This cabin is fabulous! Every detail has been carefully thought through. It is so very warm, cozy and inviting inside and out. We will definitely come again. The host were friendly and treated us like family.

This is our second time staying at Banjo’s Cabin. We loved our stay. The hosts are very kind and understanding. We loved our stay how homey and peaceful it is here and would definitely recommend Banjos cabin to anyone looking for some peace& quite away from everything. It’s nice to sit out and listen to the creek in the morning drinking coffee. If I could give 10 stars I would. Thank you for sharing your home!

All I can say is wow! This home is the perfect vacation spot!! A ton of privacy, very clean and plenty of yard for your fur baby to run around! We saw so much wildlife which was really exciting! The blackstone griddle was perfect for cooking breakfast and dinners! Plenty of towels to enjoy many soaks in the hot tub and enough for showering. I will absolutely rent here again as it is perfect! About a 25 minute trip to Mt. Airy which has all of your restaurant and grocery needs. thank you Balager for sharing such a incredible getaway! We cannot wait to return!

What a beautiful place! Definitely a cool experience to stay in an authentic piece of history- with the necessary climate control and some modern comforts. The farm was peaceful, immaculately kept and just a lovely spot on this earth.

An unbelievable treasure. I now know if I ever get to build my retirement home this is what it will be modeled after. We got to explore, play in the creek, my kids played outside the entire time and did not once ask for TV time. It was a very well decorated but also baby proofed house which I always appreciate. So many kitchen amenities and tons of towels for use and helpful things everywhere. The cozy gas fireplace made me most relaxed after the kids went to bed. We also felt incredibly safe. Never once crossed my mind to feel uncomfortable. Hands down we loved it and can't wait to come back. it's a total gem!!

Amazing and YES, cozy but not small country cottage! Beautiful Natural and well kept outdoors. Many sitting and dinning areas. inside provided tremendous light, many windows, Amazing space and separation of sleeping areas and very private bath. Kitchen perfectly laid out with much space for multiple cooks. Clean, private, quite and indoor bug free environment. Two perfect fire pits; one secluded for privacy and another perfect for gatherings. Perfect ambience. We felt we were home away from home. We had last minute request and Michelle was flexible, accommodating and went beyond host duties to fulfill our unusual needs. We will definitely return for another country cozy get away. Check in/out instructions were clear and minimal. Thank you for an amazing getaway! Look for us to return. We will definitely tell our friends!

The Floyd EcoVillage cabin was the perfect fit for me. I needed a peaceful place to decompress, but wanted to be close to town for restaurants, etc. It was cozy, quiet, comfortable, and convenient--exactly what I needed!

This was one of our favorite stays. It’s so peaceful and Vicky has thought of everything to make this a comfortable stay. We enjoyed listening to the birds and the rushing stream. We roasted weenies at the fire pit and enjoyed coffee in the morning on the porch. After a long day of fly fishing we had fresh towels and a comfy bed. We look forward to making many more memories at Vicky’s place!

Pieter and Jenna's place was ideal for us after a day of hiking. Peaceful, quiet and close to the AT. Price was very reasonable in comparison to others and it was not a hotel. We just needed an overnight quiet place to sleep, make dinner and breakfast and back on the trail and then back home. Our goal was not to hang out, but it might have been nice to use or bring a Solo Stove Fire Pit. Their place was VERY clean, looked new, easy check in and check out. Not a big fridge or microwave but worked just fine for our needs. There is no door between the bathroom/laundry room and the bedroom, just small swinging saloon doors. Which is fine, as long as you understand that you don't have the kind of privacy you may be used to at home. All-in-all, it was a nice place to stay and would come back again.

We absolutely loved this little cabin. Small but all we needed and the screen porch on the back was amazing. Hearing the babbling brook while winding down for the evening was magical. All in all, a great place and we'd definitely stay there again.

The cabin is so secluded. At night we heard nothing but wildlife. It was so quiet we could hear the Mayo river even though it was a half mile away. Anytime I can get somewhere where there is next to no cell phone service, I am happy. It was a nice short walk to the rapids and my family spent most of the day there.

Love this little place hidden in the woods, away from the hustle and bustle. Quiet and comfy, perfect location to just BE. February weather being what it is, we spent most of our time indoors with a fire in the cozy woodstove. Our original plan was for me to spend days in town for an assignment but when it fell through, well, the change in plans was everything I didn't know I needed. Our communication was fabulous - very responsive and helpful with all of my questions.
