New River Trail Cottage

Built in 1880 by Dr. A.C. Shepherd, this historic cottage has served as a doctor’s office, a general store, and a boarding house. The cottage is located at marker p12 on the New River Trail. From the wrap around porch, you can listen to the rapids cascading into Claytor Lake. A boat launch is conveniently located less than 1/2 mile away offering free river access. (Please note that the river is not directly accessible from the property). It is the perfect location to play, relax, or both!

The Fishermans Haven with Private Dock

Take a break and unwind at this peaceful oasis. This rustic cabin on the HILLSIDE and is nestled in the cove at Claytor Lake. First bedroom has queen bed with a chest of drawers and a smart-tv. 2nd bedroom had a full bed. Living area has a pull out twin size futon. An air mattress is also available. Enjoy great fishing, swimming or just grilling out and sitting on the dock. It’s a great getaway for couples or small families, or for Radford graduation or VA Tech games/graduation.

You will also be a short drive from Radford's parks and trails, local wineries and breweries, tubing and golf, and only 20 minutes to Virginia Tech.

You will be centrally located to local attractions within Radford, along with Radford University and Virginia Tech. The Radford Dwelling is one block from the local walking/biking trails that take you through many parts of Radford including Wildwood Park, Bisset Park and down to Radford University. The Radford Dwelling is located on a dead end street with ample parking. Enjoy outdoor seating, an upstairs living room or a downstairs family room while you are visiting.

This 1 room cabin with kitchenette (2 top burner, small refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker) with full bath is set on Toms Creek, fifteen minutes drive from Virginia Tech and the town of Blacksburg. The space itself is private, rustic and charming even though we live just next door. We thank you for no pets, vaping or smoking inside the cabin and we are happy to share that our onsite managers, Ray and Mara, will be handling all inquiries on our behalf.

You will be close to everything when you stay at this centrally-located place. Only a few minutes off I-81, 10 minutes to Radford University and 20 minutes to Virginia Tech. A King bed to take all your worries away with a sofa sleeper for a little extra room. There will be cold beverages in the fridge for you if you would like. **This is for a 1 bedroom basement studio with private entrance, 1st floor is occupied by the host or tenant.

Up A Creek on Claytor Lake

Enjoy looking at the lake from almost every room in the house. Wake up in any bedroom with a view of the lake. Have coffee on the porch while the sun rises, walk straight into the lake from the boat landing, enjoy relaxing on the patio, lay out in the sun, jump off the private dock, build a sandcastle on the beach, and then finish your day with a campfire in the fire pit while still looking at the lake with the moon shining down.
