Vibrant town full of independent shops and bars

Hebden Bridge is a unique market town, renowned for its independent shops, bars, cafes and vibrant artistic and music scene. It's full of creative people and great places to chill. Once described in a travel magazine as 'the 4th funkiest town in the world' it's not hard to see why as truly anything goes! Lots of lovely walks on the hills above Hebden Bridge or wander through the beautiful Hardcastle Crags, known locally as "Little Switzerland", take Keighley Road out of Hebden Bridge and follow the National Trust signs. Parking is sometimes as problem at weekends but you can walk from Hebden Bridge - just follow the river upstream, over the cobbled bridge and past the cricket and bowling clubs. Takes about 30 minutes to reach the lodge gates.

Cragg Vale offers a number of beautiful walks and fantastic cycling opportunities. There are two great pubs - the Robin Hood Inn and the Hinchliffe Arms within walking distance of Rose Villas. Just follow Cragg Road for a mile or so or take the scenic route by turning right at the at the bend and through the woods ending at the Hinchliffe Arms and back via The Robin Hood. The 'Cragg Coiners Walk' follows in the footsteps of 'King David Hartley', head of the notorious 'Cragg Coiners' gang of counterfeiters, the story told in 'The Gallows Pole' by local author Ben Myers.
