Rothbury boasts several independent shops, pubs, galleries, and restaurants with a regular bus service to Alnwick, Morpeth, and beyond.

A short drive from Thropton & Rothbury, you’ll find welcoming pubs, local shops, restaurants & nearby attractions like Cragside & Simonside. With character & personal touches throughout, our cottage is the perfect base to explore Northumberland’s beauty & heritage.

Stand alone, wild, off-grid woodland pod

300 yards walk across the fields and over 2 stiles, from the car parking area, totally off-grid camping pod, with solar panel for lighting and USB phone charging, a composting loo and gas shower. Situated in a stunning bluebell wood, with breathtaking views of Cheviot, Simonside and the Coquet Valley. The Pod stands alone, with just the abundant wildlife to share the woods with. The pod is very basic with no heating, a 2-ring gas hob and small sink, and a fire pit area with fallen wood for fuel.

Located within the "International Dark Sky Park" it is a fantastic place to stargaze, with specialist equipment provided.

A peaceful rural retreat for couples, with walks from the door and being only a short drive away from the stunning Northumberland National Park and Heritage Coastline AONB. Dene Cottage is in Callaly, a quiet hamlet in the beautiful Northumberland countryside, 2 miles from the picturesque village of Whittingham and conveniently located between the towns of Alnwick and Rothbury (each 15 mins drive away). Nearest pub 5 miles, restaurant 5 miles, shop 5 miles. Public transport (bus) 2 miles away.

'Dragonfly Pod' at Pondihengery Glampsite.

Pondihengery Glampsite is a small family run site in a rural area, just outside Rothbury, Northumberland. The site sits on the edge of a stone circle with stunning views. We welcome up to two well behaved dogs. We are striving to make the accommodation accessible so that everyone can enjoy the wonderful area we call home. We currently have one accessible glamping pod on site 'Dragonfly' with a Shepherds Hut now available. We are sure that you will have a memorable stay and book in again!

The Coach House at Lynnholm

The Coach House provides secluded accommodation on a West facing hillside with lovely views of the Cheviot Hills. Set in a very quiet location on the edge of the moors, ideal for walking, cycling, bird watching, castles, fishing, touring or just chilling. The cottage has an enclosed garden and large sundecks where you can eat, drink and even cook (barbeque chiminea) outside and watch the sun go down over the distant horizons of the Cheviots and the Otterburn ranges. Located in the centre of the popular Village of Rothbury along a short pedestrian walkway the Cottage is tucked in a quiet spot behind the main street of the Village. A brilliant location to enjoy the pubs, cafes and shops of the Village and an excellent base from which to discover Northumberland.
