Learn about the cliffs and fossils that make the area unique. Also, a small aquarium and otters. Great for small kids, kids and adults alike. They usually give out free fossil shark teeth to children. Also - a great place to book a bay-trip on a historic ship!

Calvert Cliffs Marine Museum (1 hr 20 min from Annapolis) - lovely interactive museum for the kids, lots for them to get their hands into.

So much to do! Tour the lighthouse, see the sting rays and sea life, say hi to the otters, check out the exhibits, shop the gift shop. Many weekends they offer concerts too.

The Calvert Marine Museum in Solomons explains and interprets the physical history of Southern Maryland and the Chesapeake Bay with hands-on, interactive experience and popular river otter exhibit. The museum’s annual Sharkfest takes place on the second Saturday in July, and riverboat cruises depart daily from the museum’s own dock.
